Este mes he empezado a preparar las franelas que compré en Lunares para empezar a componer la colcha de Guille

This month I started to prepare the flannels that I bought in Lunares to make Guille's quilt.

Por fin terminé la pera limonera que empecé en Mayo si no recuerdo mal, y es que se me están empezando a acumular proyectos. Debería plantearme no seguir sumando a la lista, ... pero no puedo!

Finally I finished the pear that if I´m not wrong, I started to make in May. I think I 'm starting to accumulate too many projects, and that is making me feel a little bit stressed out, so I don`t think I should add any more at the moment.

He hecho una pequeña casita para ordenar las horquillas del pelo. es un regalito para la princesa María.

I also made a little house to hold hairclips. This is a present for little princess Mary

También he hecho una funda para la tablet de mi amiga Reyes. He utilizado las telas de Gorjuss. La medida iba perfecta!

I also made a tablet cover for my friend Reyes. I used Gorjuss fabrics, and it looks lovely.

A finales de mes vino Mimi's Cottage a Broches y realizamos una pantalla de lámpara en un estilo muy country. Es preciosa y estoy deseando mostrarla, pero aún no la he terminado. Espero poder hacerlo en mi próximo post.

At the end of the month Mimi's Cottage came to Broches to teach us how to make a lamp shade. It's a very country style. I learnt how to make clamshells, yo-yos... a lot of very interesting things. But I haven't  been able to finish it yet. So I hope I'll show it to you in my next post.

Miriam es encantadora, me gusta mucho su estilo country. llevó varios de sus trabajos y realmente te quedas con la boca abierta. Además, como siempre, lo pasamos genial.

yle. She brought several pieces of work such as bags,  sewing cases of different sizes, amazing quilts, ... and a hanger cover.

Y para mi sorpresa, conocí en persona a Belén de Simply Patchwork, qué honor!

and I was really impressed when I met Belen from Simply Patchwork. I really admire her. She is very creative and she also has a very country style. I really have greate memories about that day. 

 Y por fin terminé algo que aún no puedo mostrar porque es un regalo sorpresa de cumple. Espero hacerlo en el post de Octubre. Hasta entonces!

Last but not least, I finished something that I can't show yet because it is a birthday present and it is a surprise. Hopefully I'll be able to next October post. See you then!!

JULIO Y AGOSTO

El 5 de julio asistí a un monográfico con Teresa Sako. Lo pasé en grande. Al pricipio, un poco estresad por acabar a tiempo, pero la verdad es que fue muy interesante. nos enseñó a utilizar el dedal japonés, a plicar con puntada escondida, piezas minúsculas, punto de encuentro, ... en fin, todo muy interesante. Además ella es encantadora. empezamos a las 10h y acabamos alrededor de las 20h. Comimos estupendamente y lo pasamos mejor.

The 5th of July I went on a trainig course with Teresa Sako. 

I lernt very interesting things such as sewing with a Japanese thimble, a different way of application... but overall we enjoyed ourselves. 

We spent 10 hours and we all felt that the time flew by, which is true when you are having fun. 

Solo quedó pendiente dar los últimos toques con bordados, componer, acolchar y, ... Voilá .

I finished at home few embroideries, set it out, quilt it and, ...voilá

Por fin, conseguí el panel de las muñequitas Gorjuss y pude hacerle a Victoria esta camiseta, que llevaba tiempo pidiendo.

A partir del día 15 empezaba a salir de vacaciones. Primero, a Málaga a visitar a mi amiga Lluchy, que no veía desde Navidad. Me fui con los niños a su casa y lo pasamos muy bien. Ella hace unas fofuchas preciosas que se pueden ver y encargar en http://www.pinterest.com/llukitas/ o en www.facebook.com/llukitas.arts

Yo le regalé este neceser, en el que practiqué las tablas, que nunca había hecho.

From the 15th I started to go awayfor holidays. I went first to Málagato visit my friend Lluchy. She makes amazing foam dolls that you can find and order at http://www.pinterest.com/llukitas/ or at www.facebook.com/llukitas.arts

I took her this toilette bag in where I practiced making pleats.

Y después de pasar 5 días fabulosos en Málaga, nos reunimos con mi chico en Madrid y nos fuimos por fin, juntos al norte a Galicia, cerca de Ferrol y al ladito de mi amiga Montse, que tiene una cabaña de cuento en Pedroso, una aldeita preciosa.

After spending 5 fabulous days, I met Roberto in Madrid and we went all togetherto Galicia, to a small village very close to Ferrol called Pedroso where my friend Montsiña has an authentic log cabin in the country. 

Allí hemos descansado, hemos disfrutado de la playa y del calor, si calor! También me di un baño de hortensias azules y Margaritas. Que maravilla!!

I rested, enjoyed the beach and the heat (yes, the heat!).
Also I had a bath in blue hydrangeas and daisies. How wonderful!!

Y aprovechando que estábamos cerca, nos fuimos a Avilés a conocer Lunares, la tienda de Quilt House. No lo puedo decir de otra manera... Espectacular!

Es grandísima, ellos son encantadores... En fin, esuvimos mas de tres horas y se nos hizo corto!!


Taking advantage we were close to Aviles (just 200 Km), we went to Lunares, the shop of Quilt House. I can't say anything else, GORGEOUS!. It's huge, they are really nice. We estayed there more than three hours and we had the feeling it was a very short time.

Yo me traje un montón de franelas para hacerle una colcha con chenilla para Guille. A ver cuando la acabo... o mejor dicho, cuándo la empiezo!

I bought a lot of flanels to make a chenille quilt for Guille. I don't know when I will finish or should I say when I will start.

Me encantó ir volvimos alucinadas. Hasta Victoria, que nos acompañó estaba alucinada y no rechistó. Eso sí, se llevó una osita de peluche

I really enjoyed going there. I got back so impress. Victoria who joined us was impress too and she didn't complain all the time we spent there. But I have to say she got a lovely bear called Elsa.

Y ya estý de vuelta. Se me acabaron las vacaciones. Bueno, me queda una semanita, pero ya no voy a salir, así que no me quedará mas remedio que ponerme a coser! ;o)

Además tengo algunos encarguitos. Volvemos con las flores...

And I'm back. Holidays are finished. Well, I have one more week but we are not going anywhere. So there is nothing I can do about it, I will have to sew! ;o)

Also I had few orders. Flowers come back. There is no season for these pretty flowers.

And a little house key ring.

Pero hablando de casitas, hecho una nueva casita. Es una funda para la caja de pañuelos.
Algunas partes como la chiminea o ensamblar el tejado, han sido un poco costosas, pero creo que ha merecido la pena

And talking about houses, I "built" a new one. It is a cover for a tissue box. You can take the tisuue from the chimney. It was a little hard to add the chimney to the roof but I think finally it looks very pretty.

MAYO Y JUNIO

Finalmente, Mayo no fue tan productivo como esperaba y solo acabé la colcha del pequeño Joaquín. Es muy práctica porque aunque deje la cuna, la colcha es el relleno del cojín y siempre lo puede tener sobre la cama.

Finally, May wasn't as productive as I expected and I just finished little Joaquin's quilt (anyway it was hard work). It is very practical, because when he moves from the cot to a bed, the quilt can be the filling of a cushion, and you can still put the cushion on the bed.

Y ya a principios de Junio, me animé a hacer un llavero grande para llevar tooodas mis llaves.
La verdad es que es de las cosas que estoy mas orgullosa. quedó muy vistoso.

At the beginning of June I made a huge key ring for carrying all my keys. This is one of the things that I fill very proud. It looks gorgeous

También me dio por cambiar los manteles de casa. descubrí una tienda en Majadahonda, Sandra Marques que tiene telas plastificadas gruesas y con unos estampados preciosos. Solo necesitaba ponerles un bies bonito y... voilá!

Also I decided to chenge the table cloths that were a little bit faded. I found amazing plastic materials with beautiful patterns. I chose a classical checked pattern  for the kitchen and a floral one for the balcony and living room tables. I just needed a beautiful ribbon to put around them and ... voilá

Por fin terminé mi camiseta "Moni the quilter" creo que realmente se parece a mi! ;o))
In addition I finished my "Moni the quilter" t-shirt. I think it is really like me! ;o))

Y lo mas, lo que quise hacer desde que me regalaron mi primer libro de patchwork. El peso de la puerta de Quilt House. Combiné mis telas y aprendí a hacer algunos bordados sencillos con cintas para hacer un rosal en vez de un acebo.

And this is my first wish come true. This is a door stop that I saw in the first  patchwork book by Quilt House. I combined my fabrics and I learnt embroidery with ribbons to make a rose bush.

Una técnica que me tiene atrapadísima es el meshwork. Es como hacer cesteria con bieses. Por cierto, fundamental el accesorio para hacer bies. Es como hacer magia! Me encanta. de momento he hecho tres, pero voy a aprender a hacer una estrella preciosa. a ver si no tardo tanto en actualaizar el blog.... aunque con las vacaciones, no se sabe.

There is a new technique called meshwork. It´s like doing basketmaking but with ribbons. It is amazing!and I´m absolutelly hooked on it. I made three different ones but I´m looking forward to making a star.
I hope I won´t take a long time till next update 

Y en Julio también tengo varias cositas, algunas a medias y otras acabadas, pero me voy a Málaga unos días y a Galicia otros pocos. Pero espero ser puntual y a final de Julio mostrar algunos trabajos. Habrá de todo, un bolsito, un neceser, una camiseta, ... Hasta pronto!

In July I have some other things that I would like to show you. A few finished, a few at the halfway stage, but I'm going to Málaga for a few days and then to Galicia, so it will be a while before I can update the blog. There will be a t-shirt, a vintage bag, a toilet bag... see you soon!

ABRIL

Se podría decir que el mes de Abril ha sido muy productivo. Ha ayudado mucho el fin de semana largo de Semana Santa. hizo un tiempo fabuloso y también salimos a pasear un poquito, pero que bien se cose en la terracita con un refresquito al sol.
Ahí van unas cuantas creaciones. Primero, decir que acabé mi bolso para llevar la labor. No es porque lo he hecho yo, pero quedó fabuloso. Con la ayuda de mi profe Yolanda de Broches, se consiguen hacer maravillas.

I think April was a very productive month. Easter long weekend was a great help because it gave us the opportunity to do many things. We went for a walk in a lovely place and also I was able to find time to sew. how amazing a sunny day is sewing on my balcony with a cool drink!
Here are some of my creations:
First of all I finished my sewing bag. Maybe it is not very correct to say it looks amazing, but it does! ;o). With the support of my teacher Yolandafrom "Broches" it is very easy to make fabulous things!

He seguido con los cumples. En este caso les tocó a dos peques, María y Fede. FELICIDADES, peques!!

 

I also continued with some birthday presents. In this case for two babies: Maria who is just one ans Fede who is 4. Happy birthday to you! :o))

Mi tía María se acaba de jubilar (que suerte!) y le gusta mucho viajar, así que decidí hacerle un porta documentos. el diseño es de Anni Downs, aunque cambié la combinación de las telas.

 

My aunt Maria is about to retire and she loves travelling, so I decided to give her a document case as a present. This is an Anni Downs design, but a chose the fabrics.

Y, casualidades de la vida, buscando los cierres para el porta documentos, encontré una boquilla de bolso preciosa y una compañera de vicio, Concha me explicó en 10 minutos como hacer un bolso precioso. así que, pensando en qué regalar a mi amiga Marce, probé y creo que quedó fabuloso. además es reversible!!.

 

When I was looking for two catches for the document case, I bumped into Concha, may friend Clara's mum. Concha is a patchwork expert and makes amazing things. So she showed me how to make a quick lovely bag. She took just ten minutes to explain how to make it. What's more it's reversible! look, isn't is gorgeous?

También me hicieron un encargo. Otros Manolos para Mecía. Y es que los Manolos se llevan un montón! ;o)

A jealous workmate of mineasked me for a "Manolos t-shirt" for her daughter Mencía. I changed the design because, as you know a pair of Manolos is exclusive and there are no two pairs alike!

Y he retomado la colchita del pequeño Joaquín, que a este paso va a dejar de ser pequeño. Ya he terminado el cojín que luego contendrá la colcha. con la colcha espero progresar este puente de Mayo.

I carried on with little Joaquin's quilt as well. I've just finished the cushion and hopefully I will finished the quilt in May.

Y por último, un regalito de comunión para Moni, la amiguita de mi hija Victoria. Es un joyero que he craquelado en toda la superficie externa.

And to finish off, I'll show my daughter's best friend's communion present. It is a jewellery bow. On the outside I applied a technique to give it a vintage appearance.

El interior es mas sencillo. Solo falta la dedicatoria de Victoria para su amiga.

The inside looks more simple. All it needs now is a dedication note from Victoria for her friend.

Y también hemos incluido el primer "huesped" del joyero. Una pulsera con un angelito.

And appart from that, we need something to put in it. It is a bracelet with an angel charm.

... y terminamos Abril. Ahora se nos viene el puente de Mayo. Espero hacer muchos progresos.
